group Classes

Our group classes help soon-to-be and new Moms, their partners, and family members become aware of and prepared for the profound brain and body changes that occur throughout pregnancy, during childbirth, nursing, and the postpartum period. Group classes and workshops bring awareness and sensitivity to these changes. Through education and exercises, Angie aims to instill a sense of appreciation for both the positives and negatives of this time.

Group classes and workshops are capped at 8-10 couples. Each class/workshop lasts 2-4 hours in length with multiple breaks throughout. No workshops are currently scheduled for 2019-2020. If interested in attending a Mommy Brain EDU workshop, please contact us!

About our workshop sessions:

These workshops aim to: (a) educate expectant and new parents about the brain changes that occur during pregnancy and the postpartum; (b) bring awareness and acceptance to these changes; and (c) practice exercises that will maintain awareness of these issues and help to mentally prepare for them.

Topics to be covered include pregnancy hormones and their effect on cognition and behavior, sleep and the brain, connecting with and appreciating your maternal brain, keeping the right mindset during pregnancy and the postpartum, the strengths of the maternal brain, relationships and the maternal brain, self-care, and going back to work. Time will be spent discussing these topics and completing exercises that prepare you for these changes. This series can be taken any time during pregnancy or the postpartum period.
